Glufosinate-ammonium
(GLA),
an
organophosphate
herbicide,
is
released
at
high
concentrations
in
the
environment,
leading
to
concerns
over
its
potential
genotoxic
effects.
However,
few
articles
are
available
literature
reporting
possible
cellular
and
nuclear
effects
of
this
compound.
We
assessed,
by
vitro
vivo
micronucleus
assays,
genotoxicity
GLA
on
cultured
human
lymphocytes
Lymnaea
stagnalis
hemocytes
six
concentrations:
0.010
(the
established
acceptable
daily
intake
value),
0.020,
0.050,
0.100,
0.200,
0.500
µg/mL.
In
lymphocytes,
our
results
reveal
a
significant
concentration-dependent
increase
micronuclei
frequency
from
0.100
μg/mL,
while
L.
hemocytes,
differences
were
found
0.200
μg/mL.
A
reduction
proliferation
index
was
observed
all
tested
concentrations,
with
only
exception
indicating
that
exposure
could
lead
increased
cytotoxic
stagnalis,
laid
eggs
body
growth
also
concentrations.
conclusion,
we
provided
evidence
genomic
damage
induced
both
model
organism’s
hemocytes;
addition,
demonstrated
cell
reproductive
health
stagnalis.

Sunscreens
are
topical
personal
care
products
that
provide
protection
against
the
sun's
ultraviolet

radiation.
Ultraviolet
(UV)
filters
compounds
added
to
sunscreens
block,
absorb,

reflect
UV
rays,
but
of
major
emerging
concern
due
their
widespread
use
global
distribution.
They
pose
a
significant
risk
marine
organisms
owing
chemical
properties,
including
high
lipophilicity
which
increases
bioavailability.
The
present
review
identifies
summarises
factors
contribute
filter
pollution,
sources,
pathways,
effects
on
organisms.
We
identify
evaluate
current
knowledge
base
gaps
pertaining
effects.
Here,
we
retrieved
111
peer-reviewed
articles
from
four
academic
search
engines
between
January
October
2024
with
topic
relating
filters,
sunscreen
ecotoxicology.
Most
publications
(60
%)
focused
biological
organic
oxybenzone
(benzophenone-3)
being
most
studied
(57
%).
Fewer
assessed
inorganic
