Oxidative stress (OS) is a major concern that impacts the overall health of chickens in modern production systems. It characterized by an imbalance between antioxidant defence mechanisms and reactive oxygen species (ROS). This literature review aims to provide comprehensive overview oxidative poultry production, with emphasis on its effects growth performance, immune responses, reproductive outcomes. highlights intricate underlying OS discusses how various factors, including dietary components, genetic predispositions, environmental stressors can exacerbate ROS. Additionally, impact performance physiological systems examined. The study also emphasizes relationship diseases, highlighting impaired defenses increase bird's susceptibility infections. assesses existing approaches reducing response these challenges. includes managing techniques lower environment, supplements, nutritional interventions. effectiveness naturally occurring antioxidants, plant extracts, minerals, vitamins improve resistance damage To under conditions, activation cellular homeostatic networks termed vitagenes, such as Nuclear Factor Erythroid 2-Related 2 (Nrf2) necessary for synthesis protective factors counteract increased ROS RNS. Mycotoxins like aflatoxins (AFs), fumonisins (FBs), and ochratoxin A (OTA) pose serious health risks to humans animals. Fruit pomace extracts, rich in natural nutrients bioactive compounds, have the potential enhance animal mitigate mycotoxin toxicity. This study evaluated a novel liquid anti-mycotoxin solution (LAS), combination of grape olive extract administered broiler chickens through drinking water (2 L:1000 L) for 1–42 days under multi-mycotoxin challenge. The 42-day trial with 288 one-day-old male Ross 308AP95 chicks included four experimental groups: negative control (NC); NC+LAS; positive (PC) group fed diet containing 80 μg/kg AFs, 1600 FBs, 50 OTA; PC+LAS. growth performance, oxidative defense genes (liver), stress biomarkers (blood) were analyzed. Mycotoxin exposure negatively affected body weight (BW), feed conversion ratio (FCR), mechanism. LAS supplementation improved BW FCR, reduced Nrf-2 expression, enhanced detoxification via lower EPHX1 expression. Though did not fully restore performance NC levels, it significantly mitigated mycotoxin-induced damage. concluded that is promising improve resilience against moderate high exposure.

Mycotoxins are well-known secondary metabolites produced by several fungi that grow and occur in different crops during both pre-harvest post-harvest conditions. The contamination occurrence of mycotoxins currently represent some the major issues entire agri-food system. quantification feeds foodstuffs is extremely difficult because low concentration ranges; therefore, sample collection preparation essential to providing accurate detection reliable quantification. Currently, analytical methods available for feed food products, liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) represents most instrumental approach. In particular, fast development high-throughput has made it possible screen analyze, same run high accuracy, multiple mycotoxins, such as those regulated, masked, or modified, emerging ones. Therefore, aim this review provide an overview state art occurrence, health-related concerns, analyses, discussing need perform multi-screening approaches combined omics technologies simultaneously analyze matrices. This approach expected more comprehensive information about profile distribution thus enhancing understanding their co-occurrence impact on production chain.

Mycotoxin contamination in grain has been an ongoing concern the world. Wheat, as a staple crop China, is particularly notable for its mycotoxin contamination. The main mycotoxins wheat include deoxynivalenol (DON) and derivates, zearalenone (ZEN) aflatoxin B1 (AFB1). After harvest, drying process effective technique necessary step to ensure long-term safe storage of wheat. In this study, moisture content, concentrations total fungi post-harvest three growing areas North China Plain were examined, effect different methods on quality was evaluated. results showed that 87.5% samples simultaneously contaminated with two or more mycotoxins. Due pre-harvest heavy rainfall, levels Liaocheng city significantly higher compared other regions. Moreover, effects starch gelatinization viscosity properties investigated. both natural air dryer altered crystal structure within particles affected starch. However, there no significant difference between treated methods.
