This paper examines the association between pro-environmental consumption and subjective well-being tests whether this type of decision could be explained as a utility-maximizing choice under welfare economics, or it is subject to systematic deviations from rational choice. The literature provides evidence for positive significant effects on well-being; however, studies describing relationship drawing comparisons based specific dimensions are limited. Here we try fill gap by proposing two composite indicators, representing preferences behaviour in different dimensions. indicator "proactive behaviour" encompasses products with better environmental efficiency, while "avoidance pertains sustainable choices that involve avoiding - less frequently engaging decisions negative ecological externalities. findings, data Aspects Daily Life survey conducted Italy ISTAT, provide former has stronger effect compared latter. Furthermore, analysis reveals satisfaction negatively moderates life satisfaction.
