Estimation of age represents a central focus in the veterinary forensic pathology field. Currently, visual examination dentition and skeletal are main methods to estimate puppies. Nevertheless, these affected by broad range variables. In contrast, kidney is characterized specific postnatal development. human glomerulogenesis, fetal mesangial cells change their immunohistochemical phenotypes with maturation. Therefore, we hypothesized that histological examinations can be used together as an indirect parameter for determination puppies' cadavers. Forty-five cadavers were divided into five groups defined (Group A= 0-15 days, Group B = 16-45 C 46-85 D 86-105 E= 105-365 days). For each case, samples collected processed histopathological (for morphometrical study glomerulus) immunolocalization α-SMA protein) studies. Morphometrical allowed us observe statistical differences mean glomerulus numbers per field among assessed groups. Abstract Behavioral dysfunctions in dogs represent one of the main social concerns, since they can endanger both humans and animals. Among them, phobia is usually characterised by a strong persistent fear towards something that might feel threatening, including thunderstorms, fireworks, strangers, or sounds. Alongside with genetic susceptibility, environmental factors, traumatic experiences, medical conditions cause dog to develop such psychiatric disorders. The available treatments rely on behavioral therapy, based cognitive-relational approach, associated administration drugs acting GABA, serotonin catecholamines. Unfortunately, pharmacological interventions are hardly effective discourage owners, who often decide relinquish animals shelters. Recent growing evidence highlight importance gut-brain axis modulation brain physiology behavior. Therefore, present study we sought investigate potential connection between gut microbiota companion dogs. To this aim, first analyzed faecal samples (total n = 16) collected from mixed breed adult (n 8/group). Differentially abundance analysis allowed us identify taxa related Proteobacteria Firmicutes Phyla, significantly altered phobic In addition, metabolome blood serum same showed significant alterations molecules GABA glutamate neurotransmission, as well bile acids metabolism. Collectively, our preliminary data may shed light combining high-throughput approaches improve diagnosis aimed at counteracting
