No single spatial interpolation method reigns supreme for modelling the precise distribution of groundwater quality data. This study addresses this challenge by evaluating and comparing several commonly used geostatistical methods: Local Polynomial Interpolation (LPI), Ordinary Kriging (OK), Simple (SK), Universal (UK), Empirical Bayesian (EBK). We applied these methods to a vast dataset 3033 records encompassing substantial area (11,100 km2) in coastal lowlands western Netherlands. To our knowledge, no prior research has investigated specific hydrogeological setting, exhibiting range qualities, from fresh saline, often anoxic, with high natural concentrations PO4 NH4. The prediction performance was assessed through statistical indicators such as root means square error. findings indicated that EBK outperforms other forecasting five variables considered: Cl, SO4, Fe, PO4, In contrast, SK performed worst species except SO4. recommend not using interpolate unless data exhibit low variation, sample density, or evenly distributed sampling.

Understanding the complexities of regional groundwater quality is crucial for managing resources. Groundwater assessment involves investigating specific dissolved components, example, comparing them to established standards. To fully understand all aspects quality, one should assess composite properties, being redox status and another cation exchange condition. The first may, impose a control on degradation organic micropollutants. While numerical indices can be easily interpolated visualised using various GIS applications, consistently mapping conditions as non-numerical remains challenging. Furthermore, no study has yet conducted regional-scale classes in environment extensive samples. deepen our understanding these we employed ArcGIS this map two stages. First, mapped components interest, including Cl, SO4, SO4/Cl, Fe, NO3 base exchanges Na Mg, by most appropriate interpolation method identified geostatistical analysis. Then, variables were combined, conditional functions used ArcMap's Math toolbox determine or classes. Our innovative was developed 3,350 sampling locations coastal lowlands Western Netherlands. successful, with generally 75%–95% similarity between predicted observed situations introduced more straightforward than others other linguistic like Wilcox irrigation water classifications, well.

Water effluent pollution in the Ecuadorian Amazon occurs mainly due to lack of sewage infrastructure, wastewater treatment plants urban and rural areas, agricultural livestock activities. Consequently, understanding water quality is crucial because its dynamic nature, influenced by various activities along course. We evaluated compared status El Salvador River with current standards Ministry Environment, Water, Ecological Transition Ecuador Decree No. 115/2003 on management. The index was determined through random sampling at seven locations river. results show good quality, contamination indices ranging from 84 87. When comparing standards, all parameters met for recreational purposes. However, considering river’s uses activities, we additional legislation outlined Environment found that nitrate content exceeded permissible limits runoff surrounding crops, causing a potential risk human health. Therefore, incorporating helophyte promising option would promote health this aquatic ecosystem others.
