Surface water resources have played a fundamental role in the development of human societies. Considering that different agricultural and industrial activities are carried out Acacias River basin, main objective this research was to analyze influence land use on quality area by identifying sources river quality. The methodology consisted establishing 12 sampling stations with uses at three times. National Sanitation Foundation-Water Quality Index (NSF-WQI) applied obtained evaluation data. results showed associated urban centers presented higher concentration following variables: fecal coliforms, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) phosphates. principal components analysis revealed close relation between parameters phosphates BOD, pollution processes organic matter, which probably related domestic wastewater discharges, detergents urbanized areas. greatest range values were total dissolved solids turbidity. These coincide what observed correlation analysis. Finally, nitrates concentrations 6 7, areas (i.e., oil palm crops basin). This study about is, thus, extremely important for region, concludes river’s self-purifying capacity allows improved where predominant is not settlements.
