Countries face challenges of excess, scarcity, pollution, and uneven water distribution. This study highlights the benefits advances in groundwater engineering that improve understanding utilizing local geological characteristics due to their crucial role resisting drought southern Lebanon. The type region was determined using Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Vegetation (NDVI), Condition (VCI), Soil Moisture Anomaly (SM). dry aquifer its were analyzed mathematical equations established hydrogeological principles, including Darcy’s law. Additionally, a morphometric assessment Litani River performed evaluate suitability for artificial recharge, where optimal placement barrier recharge tunnels Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. analysis involved excluding certain parameters based on Shapiro–Wilk test normality. Accordingly, Geographic Information System (GIS), we modeled simulated potential table. results showed importance validity linking combating layers. Eocene layer clearer trend possibility being artificially recharged from than any other layer. proposed method can enhance raise level four levels, transform it into large, saturated thickness. On hand, noted levels near surface will cover most area studied could potentially store more one billion cubic meters water, mitigating effects climate change decades.
