Water pollution is a significant issue resulting from past long-term actions. The remediation projects carried out under law constraints for industrial plants, which have been the major contributors to environmental and water pollution, are currently providing amount of data about contaminated soil, surface waters, groundwater. Most such plants worldwide in coastal zones. Based on chemical site subject variable groundwater salinization, this study aimed understand mobility some trace elements because zone dynamics. Data concerned 688 samples, including As, Hg, Cd, Crtot, Cu, Ni, Pb, V, Se, Zn, pH, electrical conductivity, chlorides, total organic carbon contaminants as quantitative variables, enhanced by additional qualitative variables salinity, season, level, precipitation, activity type make dataset representative possible investigation. used robust multivariate statistical analyses analyse complex explain relevant factors influencing contaminant behaviour different conditions. Multivariate Statistical Analysis distinguished three clusters with diverse reactivity changes salinization. first includes showing highest correlation conductivity chlorides their high affinity form chloride or complexes ion competition. Zn Pb cluster second group: they less reactive salinization more influenced cation anion competition matter. Hg As (third cluster) significantly correlates Fe Mn, underlining dominant role reductive dissolution elements-bearing minerals (Fe/Mn/Al-oxy-hydroxides) metal-organic complexes. between clustering soils shows influence sediment structure, mineral composition, physical soil conditions distribution transport proposes valuable approach assessing effects aquifers. It supports planning multi-purpose characterization monitoring campaigns sites provides guidance correct associated projects.
