Between 2020 and 2023, an in-depth analysis was conducted on the species composition of macrozoobenthos in Yalama River, including its tributaries Telchay, Mukhtadyrchay, Velmirchay, Khuraychay, as well other significant rivers northeastern Azerbaijan. During this period, a total 53 benthic organisms, representing 14 different taxonomic groups, were identified across studied. These findings provide important insights into biodiversity ecological health region's freshwater ecosystems. Among various groups recorded, mollusks, dragonflies, crustaceans, chironomid larvae particularly prominent, both terms richness their significance within aquatic habitats. are crucial for understanding dynamics river systems, they play key roles nutrient cycling, sediment stability, food web. The diversity these also reflects environmental conditions unique characteristics region, which may be influenced by factors such water quality, habitat variation, seasonal changes.
