Cancer is one of the leading causes death globally, and ranked second in United States. Early detection crucial for more effective treatment a higher chance survival rates, reducing burdens on individuals societies. Genitourinary cancers, particular, face significant challenges early detection. Finding new cost-effective diagnostic methods clinical need. Metabolomic-based approaches, notably volatile organic compound (VOC) analysis, have shown promise detecting cancer. VOCs are small metabolites involved biological processes disease development. They can be detected urine, breath, blood samples, making them potential candidates sensitive non-invasive alternatives cancer However, developing robust VOC remains hurdle. This review outlines current landscape major genitourinary cancers (kidney, prostate, bladder, testicular), including epidemiology, risk factors, tools. Furthermore, it explores applications using as biomarkers, various analytical techniques, comparisons extraction across different biospecimens. The use detection, monitoring progression, responses field oncology examined.
