The high-efficiency dewatering of ultra-fine tailings is one the most prominent challenges in thickening. two-step shear flocculation process represents a promising practical method to achieve tailings. In this paper, small self-made experimental device was used simulate tailings, strengthening effect failure and coagulation, we explored mass fraction floc structure size, strength, regeneration performance slurry according variation action different stages. addition, synergistic mechanism coagulation proposed. results show that significantly improved by flocculation, can reach more than 71%. primary stage, value G1T1 should be higher 100,000, secondary G2T2 range 7000~11,000. This paper provides reference for regulation mode
