Textile wastewater (WW) is a complex mixture of dyes, salts, organic matter, and other chemicals that can negatively affect the environment if not properly treated. The progress made in integrated anaerobic/aerobic (A/O) WW treatment method believed to be efficient practical for textile dyeing compared conventional activated sludge (CAS) process. This study aims critically review efficacy feasibility A/O process treatment, underlying dye degradation mechanisms, different factors affecting biodegradation. Moreover, potential haloalkaliphilic thermophilic microorganisms highlighted as they are best candidates treatment. performance system removing color, COD, TKN was demonstrated highly effective, achieving reductions up 100 %, greater than 90 80 respectively.Anaerobes play crucial role breaking down matter during anaerobic phase, which subsequently converted into non-toxic byproducts by aerobes aerobic reactor, making effective mitigating adverse environmental impacts. Recently, efficiency biological processes have been improved using this system, enabling industry meet requirements effluent discharge standard limits. Nevertheless, further research applications still their infancy stage; hence, additional exploration practicality these concepts, including scalability sustainability, well policy recommendations implementation, imperative.
