Abstract
An
experiment

coefficients

characteristics
on
seminal
proteins
buffalo
bulls.

study

conducted

concentration

fatty
acids

seminal
plasma

characteristics

This
study
explored
the
effect
of
melatonin
implantation
on
fresh
and
cryopreserved
semen
quality
Iraqi
buffalo
bulls
(Bubalus
bubalis).
Nine
adult
were
used
divided
equally
into
three
groups.
The
first
group
was
left
without
treatment
regarded
as
control
(T1),
whereas
second
(T2)
third
(T3)
groups
subcutaneously
implanted
with
72
90
mg
respectively
ear
base
repeated
one
month
post
implantation.
Semen
collected
for
12
weeks
evaluated
weekly
fresh,
cooling,
post-cryopreserved
(PC)
protocols.
T3
exhibited
a
higher
(P≤0.05)
sperm
cell

motility
percentage,
whereas,
T1
T2
recorded
better
acrosome
integrity
percentage
semen.
A
lesser
total
abnormality
(TSA)
in
greater
(SAI)
noticed
during
cooling
preservation.
Moreover,
TSA
revealed
leaser
SAI

period.
Concomitantly,
lower
malondialdehyde
concentration
seminal
plasma
observed
than
group.
In
conclusion,

ameliorated
some
attributes
bulls.
