Abstract Background/Purpose Artificial intelligence (AI) impacts our everyday lives, from business to social areas, and, in recent years, more and education. This paper aims discuss using artificial tools for educational purposes the student’s perspective. Methods A quantitative approach was used research questioning method. Data were collected an e-survey. The questionnaire contained closed questions referring (i) general data, (ii) use of specific tools, open (iii) about study purposes. Parametric Independent – Samples t-Test One-Way ANOVA tests normal near-normal distributions responses. Results conducted with 258 university students Slovenia reveals a familiarity AI concepts yet limited ability articulate this understanding. Popular like ChatGPT Grammarly are predominantly information retrieval idea generation. Notable differences tool usage observed based on gender field study. Conclusion rapid advancement is significantly transforming higher Integrating into education fosters development adaptive, personalized, inclusive learning environments. Due study’s sample size geographic focus, further diverse samples needed understand global fully.
