Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present a novel optimal theoretical framework based on potential flow theory in ideal gas dynamics, which provides smooth extrapolation Parker’s steady solar wind model the unsteady case. viability illustrated by providing first ever systematic formulation successfully address long-standing open issue regularization singularity associated with Parker sonic critical point (where velocity equals speed sound gas) linear stability problem solution.
