Background and aim: Since its emergence in 2019, SARS-CoV-2 has caused the global COVID-19 pandemic, presenting significant challenges for healthcare systems worldwide. Extensive research focused on diagnostics, treatments, vaccine development to combat virus. Given need effective strategies reduce infection rates, disease progression, severity, this study aimed investigate potential role of vitamin D (25OHD) mitigating severity COVID-19. Methods: A cross-sectional was conducted evaluate relationship between serum levels symptoms. Vitamin were measured using Roche Diagnostics assay 100 SARS-CoV-2-infected patients confirmed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Patients categorized as symptomatic or asymptomatic, correlation symptom analyzed. Results: The findings demonstrated that a proportion had below 20 ng/mL. In contrast, approximately 25% asymptomatic exceeding 30 Statistical analysis association low increased (p=0.007). Conclusion: This suggests deficiency may contribute supplementation could potentially risk severe disease.
