Background: Vitamin D is a prohormone necessary for the optimal functioning of locomotor and circulatory systems in humans. As caveat, vitamin metabolism crucial maintaining musculoskeletal cardiovascular health overexercising people, like athletes. Our study intended to explore relationship between serum 25-hydroxy (25(OH) D) levels left ventricle/right ventricle (LV/RV) systolic diastolic function adolescent athletes using 2D Doppler studies. Methods: In our cross-sectional study, 100 were divided into two groups: insufficiency (25(OH)D<20 ng/mL) sufficiency (25(OH)D>20 with 30 males 20 females both groups. A detailed physical examination basic biochemical tests performed; 25(OH)D determined, an echocardiographic evaluation was performed. Results: We found that decreased associated impairment many indicators cardiac function, such as ventricular-right ventricular-interventricular septum peak velocity (Sm) Tei index, inflow early late ratio (E/A), annulus myocardial (E′), E/E′ ratio. Conclusions: To protect functions athletes, we suggest screening 25(OH) during certain periods, fall winter, supplementation if necessary.
