Abstract
The
present
study
examines
whether
time
perspectives
(i.e.,
Past
Negative,
Positive,
Present
Hedonistic,
Fatalistic
and
Future),
Deviation
from
the
Balanced
Time
Perspective
(DBTP),
personality
traits
extraversion,
agreeableness,
conscientiousness,
neuroticism,
openness
to
experience)
are
good
candidates
explain
subjective
well-being
psychological
distress
during
COVID-19
pandemic.
Using
an
online
survey,
we
recruited
1483
participants
Italian
mandatory
lockdown.
Multiple
regressions
analysis
showed
that
strongly
predicted
well-being,
depression,
stress.
Participants
highly
oriented
on
Positive
Future
had
higher
while
Negative
lower
well-being.
Regarding
DBTP,
who
greatly
deviated
optimal
temporal
balance
reported
were
more
distressed.
