The activated carbons (adsorbents) prepared in this study, were from Vitellaria paradoxa nut shell following the two steps of carbonization and activation processes using H3PO4 KOH as activating agents labelled HVP for modified adsorbent KVP adsorbent. characterized standard methods analysis. Bulk density (g/cm3) (HVP KVP) 0.72±0.03 0.69±0.05, attrition (%) values 40.76±0.16 42.37±0.23 obtained respectively. Results also depict presence carboxyl O-H C-O groups, N-H amine on surfaces carbons. pH point charge zero (pHzpc) 6.40 6.60 less than 6.78±0.00 7.18±0.01 SEM results revealed with pores different dimensions both KVP. study suggest that adsorbents can be effectively applied wastewater treatment.
