Offenders with mental health conditions are often viewed as dangerous and unpredictable. However, there is a large amount of inconsistency reported in attitudes towards this group little work has focused specifically on the between community members police officers. Using between-subjects design, current study aimed to explore any differences perceptions offenders officers, examine if was impacted upon by officer experience gender. The sample consisted 138 participants who completed Police Community Attitudes Mental Illness Scale. A significant difference found groups their conditions; were hold significantly more positive then Level gender did not have impact conditions. results add mixed literature base but provides fresh insight into UK. This implications for given that officers pivotal successful reintegration criminal justice outcomes.
