Pyrethrins are natural insecticides biosynthesised by Asteraceae plants, such as Tanacetum cinerariifolium and have a long history, dating back to ancient times. often used low-persistence safe control household, horticultural, agricultural insect pests. Despite its history of use, pyrethrin biosynthesis remains mystery, presenting significant opportunity improve yields meet the growing demand for organic agriculture. To achieve this, both genetic modification non-genetic methods, chemical activation priming, indispensable. Plants use pyrethrins defence against herbivores, but pathways shared with plant hormones signal molecules. Hence, insight that may play broader roles than those traditionally expected is invaluable advance basic applied sciences pyrethrins.
