Cancer is a significant global health concern, responsible for 16.8% of deaths and 22.8% noncommunicable diseases. Currently, cancer ranks as the second leading cause mortality, with projections indicating its rise to top by 2060. The genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic diversity cells contributes their increased resistance treatment, enhanced survival, propensity metastasis. Conventional treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation often result in damage healthy tissues. Phytochemicals, naturally occurring plant compounds, have gained attention promising therapies due anticancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory properties. This chapter delves into recent advances phytochemical research, emphasizing molecular mechanisms innovative approaches incorporating these compounds treatment. Additionally, it explores challenges opportunities leveraging phytochemicals bridge traditional medicine modern oncology, offering hope treatment outcomes improved patient quality life.
