The study examines the characteristics, challenges and role of entrepreneurship in economic development Mfantseman Municipality Ghana. Descriptive research design was utilsed for qestionnaire distributed to 100 participants. data analyzed into descriptive statistics such as percentages frequencies tables charts using Microsoft excel. results from demonstrated that, majority entrepreneurs engaged service rendering activities have been operation 6-10 years. Moreover, it revealed that are faced with limited access finance, market, inadequate support government, low demand, high taxes, equipment technology electricity power outage their operations. Finally, discovered played a tremendous municipality by creating employment avenues, reducing poverty contributing GDP economy. recommended National Board Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) should collaborate government provide these needed technologies funds. is aimed fill gap literature area
