Choking under pressure occurs when an individual experiences a decrease in performance despite their efforts to perform well. The self-focus approach suggests that increases conscious attention on the process, disrupting automatic or overlearned nature of execution. Hemispheric asymmetries brain and skilled indicate left-hemispheric activity decreases, while right-hemispheric enhances. Previous studies have attempted prevent choking by inhibiting left hemisphere enhancing right hemisphere's activity. This study examined whether increased hemispheric priming can extenuate motor skill failure badminton tasks. involved 32 right-handed college students who completed five conditions pressure-free blocks versus under-pressure with intervention. Results showed significant improvement learning from pre- post-tests, but participants still choked during Furthermore, strategy (hand squeezing) did not alleviate benefit performance. provides evidence decrements conditions, choking.

The purpose of this study was to explore the role attentional alerting network in spatial perceptual processing youth athletes under different emotional states. Two hundred and fifty participants were recruited assess efficiency using Attention Network Test divided into high low groups based on front back 27% scores as a dividing metric. Subsequently, completed Spatial Perception Response Task emotionally induced conditions. Results showed correlation between perception, higher efficiency, faster more accurate perception response. Emotion location interacted significantly (p < 0.05), subjects angry state had responses lower left visual field than those happy state. Moreover, an interaction found for accuracy 0.05). group anger These findings suggest that can be used objective indicator assessing ability athletes, which provides empirical evidence mental selection training athletes.
