Exposure to ambient fine and respirable particulate matter is associated with poor sperm quality, but evidence for an aerodynamic diameter ≤ 1 μm (PM1) scarce. We aimed estimate the association between PM1 exposure concentration, count, total motility, progressive motility in Chinese men. conducted a cross-sectional study of 33,221 men attending infertility clinic Hubei, China, 2014 2020. Daily concentrations data were estimated from validated spatiotemporal artificial intelligence model. used multivariate linear regression parameters during spermatogenesis period after adjusting age, body mass index (BMI), education, ever having fathered child, season semen collection. In addition, we performed stratified analysis assess whether was varied by BMI, educational attainment. A 27,854 participants included final analysis. An interquartile range (17.2 μg/m3) increase entire development declined concentration [-4.39% (95% CI: −7.67%, −1.12%)] count [–23.56% −28.95%, −18.18%)], reduced [-0.86% −1.66%, −0.06%)] [-2.22% −3.00%, −1.43%)]. The associations homogeneous across subgroups defined age more pronounced among underweight count. identified critical window 0–9 lag days, 10–14 70–90 days before collection motility. Among especially ejaculation. These results suggest that might be novel risk factor impaired quality.

As the world experiences a demographic shift towards aging populations, there will be significant surge in number of sarcopenia patients, along with an unprecedented expansion associated economic burden. The multitudinous risk factors for have been reported, but evidence air pollution remains rare. This cross-sectional study employed multi-stage random sampling to select 1592 participants over 40 years age from Hubei Province. Daily mean concentrations pollutants were collected ChinaHighAirPollutants dataset. Unconditional logistic regression models utilized investigate associations between and sarcopenia. For each 1 μg/m3 increase PM2.5, PM10, SO2 O3, corresponding elevations 11.1% [95% confidence interval (CI): 4.9, 17.7], 4.3% (95% CI: 1.4, 7.2), 22.6% 7.2, 40.1) 9.3% 0.7, 18.7) sarcopenia, respectively. PM2.5/PM10/O3-sarcopenia more pronounced females, odds ratios (ORs) 95% CIs 1.179 (1.062, 1.310), 1.079 (1.027, 1.135) 1.180 (1.026, 1.358), separately. Additionally, individuals residing rural areas susceptible effects PM2.5 PM10. Current/ever smokers or drinkers also at higher developing caused by PM10 O3 exposure. Mixture analyses show 48.4% 3.6%, 112.5%) likelihood suffering joint impacts mainly driven PM2.5.Our results produced relationship exposure increased prevalence China. Public health relevant departments should make efforts prevent particularly China experiencing rapid aging.

Surface ozone (O3) concentrations in China have increased largely the past decade. An accurate understanding of O3 pollution evolution is critical for making effective regulatory policies. Here we integrate data- and process-based models to explore drivers observed summertime surface change North Plain (NCP) over 2015-2021. The data-based model by deep learning (DL) suggests reverse meteorological contributions change, i.e., 0.14 ppb/y 2015-2019 -1.74 2019-2021. This mainly resulted from reversed changes variables air temperature relative humidity. simulations a global chemical transport model, GEOS-Chem, also support those results, contribution are 0.26 -0.74 Furthermore, our analysis exhibits possible weakened anthropogenic rise, example, 1.53 0.54 DL 2019-2021, respectively. Similarly, GEOS-Chem suggest an accelerated decrease driven decline nitrogen dioxide (NO2) concentrations, approximately 0.4 1.2 ppb combined effects led significant -1.20 findings this work offer valuable insights mitigate China.
