Abstract
Listeriosis
is
an
infectious
and
fatal
disease
affecting
domestic
mammals,
poultry,
humans
worldwide.
The
effectiveness
of
local
tissue
expression
acute
phase
proteins
in
listeriosis
mammals
not
yet
clear.
aim
this
study
to
evaluate
the
26
brainstem
samples
according
distribution
severity
inflammation
due
natural
sheep.
material
consisted
paraffin
blocks,
including
20
from
listeriosis-infected
cases
6
healthy
controls.
Sections
obtained
blocks
were
subjected
histopathological
immunohistochemical
analyses.
Histopathological
examination
revealed
normal
histological
structures
brainstems
control
group.
In
contrast,
sections
exhibited
findings
such
as
micro
abscesses
composed
neutrophil
granulocytes
microglial
cells,
gliosis,
meningitis,
congestion,
perivascular
cuffs,
neuronal
degeneration,
neuronophagia.
Based
on
inflammation,
categorized
into
three
groups:

mild
(Group
I),
8
moderate
II),
7
severe
III).
Immunohistochemical
analysis
demonstrated
significantly
increased
levels
C-reactive
protein
(CRP),
Haptoglobin
(Hp),
Serum
Amyloid
A
(SAA)
groups
compared
group,
with
highest
statistical
scores
observed

II

(p<0.001).
suggest
that
acute-phase
may
play
crucial
roles
pathophysiological
processes
naturally
infected
could
express
locally.

study
