Aquatic biomass, particularly microalgae and duckweed, presents a promising sustainable alternative source of plant-based protein bioactive compounds for food feed applications. This review highlights the nutritional potential these aquatic species, focusing on their high content, rapid growth rates, adaptability to nonarable environments. Microalgae, such as Chlorella Arthrospira spp., Lemna minor, are evaluated functional applications, including roles supplements, components, antioxidants, emulsifiers in formulations. The study also examines environmental benefits, wastewater bioremediation, nutrient recycling, greenhouse gas mitigation, which contribute more agricultural system. Technological advancements cultivation, harvesting, processing duckweed discussed enhance scalability economic feasibility production. findings suggest that integrating into systems can significantly improve security, outcomes, sustainability. Future research should focus optimizing cultivation efficiencies, advancing extraction techniques, expanding applications biomass various products.
