Avian
colibacillosis,
caused
by
Pathogenic
Escherichia
coli
(APEC),
is
a
major
economic
concern
for
the
poultry
industry
worldwide,
leading
to
significant
morbidity,
mortality,
and
production
losses.
The
aim
of
this
study
was
conduct
retrospective
survey
on
colibacillosis
diagnosed,
from
January,
2013
December,
2023,
at
Clinic
Veterinary
Teaching
Hospital,
Ahmadu
Bello
University
Zaria,
Kaduna
State,
Nigeria.
Data
extracted
record
book,
entered
into
Microsoft
Excel
sheet,
analyzed
using
descriptive
statistics.
Results
revealed
that
out
1,922
cases
presented
Clinic,
13.1%
(95%
CI:
11.7
–
14.7%)
were
diagnosed
with
colibacillosis.

Abstract
Background
The
emergence
and
dissemination
of
multidrug
resistant
(MDR)
bacteria
pose
a
severe
threat
to
public
health
by
limiting
clinical
treatment
prophylactic
options.
Objectives
This
study
investigates
the
prevalence
Escherichia
coli
in
broilers,
their
phenotypic
antimicrobial
resistance
(AMR)
profiles
presence
virulence‐associated
genes
(VAGs)
(ARGs)
using
polymerase
chain
reaction
(PCR).
Materials
methods
A
total
216
pooled
cloacal
samples
were
collected
from
1080
broilers
across
six
districts
Bangladesh.
Each
sample
comprised
randomly
selected
swabs
five
birds
per
farm.

study,
veterinary
students
from
the
Faculty
of
Veterinary
Medicine,
University
Belgrade
and
Department
Agriculture,
Novi
Sad
were
surveyed
to
evaluate
their
knowledge
attitudes
toward
farm
animal
welfare.
Data
collected
431
by
survey
consisting
39
closed-ended
questions
divided
into
two
parts
(demographic
characteristics

that
female
students,

18

years,
high
schools,
urban
areas,
with
mixed
diets,

pets,
