This study aimed to provide the impact of acidifier supplementation on feed consumption, body weight gain (BWG), efficiency, and conversion ratio (FCR) in broiler chickens infected with Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC). The use acidifiers is proposed as a potential solution improve gut health nutrient absorption. employed completely randomized design (CRD). Forty chickens, ages 1 35, were utilized this study, treatment started at 8 days age. There 5 treatments 4 replications for each treatment, 2 chicks replication. consisted negative control, without APEC infection (P0), positive (P1), 0.1% Antibiotic Growth Promoters diet (P2), additional 0.5% (P3). analyzed its effect Body Weight Gain Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), efficiency. Also, business analysis was carried out by calculating contribution margin (CM). Data statistically using one way-analysis variance (ANOVA), followed Duncan's multiple range test determine any statistical differences (p<0.05). research results show that adding an does not reduce consumption value but can increase BWG, FCR (p<0.05), chicken farming. Avian colibacillosis, caused by Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC), is a major economic concern for the poultry industry worldwide, leading to significant morbidity, mortality, and production losses. The aim of this study was conduct retrospective survey on colibacillosis diagnosed, from January, 2013 December, 2023, at Clinic Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. Data extracted record book, entered into Microsoft Excel sheet, analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results revealed that out 1,922 cases presented Clinic, 13.1% (95% CI: 11.7 – 14.7%) were diagnosed with colibacillosis.

Biosecurity is the first line of defence to control spread disease both into and outside farm. Pseudomonas sp bacterial contamination can occur due faecal around livestock drinking water sources. Based on this, research was carried out which aimed isolate identify presence bacteria in sources for chicken farms East Lombok Regency. Isolation identification 12 farm samples obtained 1 with sample number 10 identified as positive sp, this supported by data from isolation results, Gram staining tests biochemical tests. It hoped that these results add provide information public or breeders about farming so improve biosecurity biosafety environment Regency

Abstract Background The emergence and dissemination of multidrug resistant (MDR) bacteria pose a severe threat to public health by limiting clinical treatment prophylactic options. Objectives This study investigates the prevalence Escherichia coli in broilers, their phenotypic antimicrobial resistance (AMR) profiles presence virulence‐associated genes (VAGs) (ARGs) using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Materials methods A total 216 pooled cloacal samples were collected from 1080 broilers across six districts Bangladesh. Each sample comprised randomly selected swabs five birds per farm. E. isolates identified standard bacteriological approach, followed biochemical assays PCR. Antimicrobial susceptibility was assessed Kirby–Bauer disc diffusion method, ARGs VAGs determined via Five partially sequenced for Sanger sequencing. Results 177 (81.94%, 95% confidence interval: 76.24%–86.53%) identified. showed highest ampicillin (93.79%), tetracycline (91.53%), erythromycin (89.27%) ciprofloxacin (87%). Conversely, ceftriaxone (80.79%) susceptibility, gentamicin (37.29%) neomycin (31.07%). All MDR, with multiple antibiotic indexes <0.3. significant percentage (16.38%) MDR classes harboured bla TEM , sul 1, ere (A), tet A, B C genes. prevalent (88.14%) (A) (83.62%) 1 (72.32%). ast (56.50%), iuc D (31.07%), iss (21.47%), irp 2 (15.82%) cva/cvi (3.39%), respectively. Conclusions highlights contributing development carrying broilers. Effective monitoring surveillance usage poultry production systems are urgently required prevent AMR.

Abstract. Kendek IA, Putri MFR, Wibisono FJ, Effendi MH, Tyasningsih W, Ugbo EN, Agumah NB. 2024. Molecular detection of hlyF gene on multidrug resistance avian pathogenic Escherichia coli isolated from ducks wet markets Surabaya, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 25: 1246-1252. Avian Pathogenic (APEC) is a strain pathogen that can cause colibacillosis in poultry, including worldwide. This disease be influenced by various virulence genes, one which the systemic disorders and potentially become zoonotic poultry. study aimed to detect (MDR) properties originating 158 duck cloacal swab samples seven live Surabaya. Samples were identified using Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA) MacConkey (MCA) media, Gram staining, then continued with biochemical tests Triple Sugar Iron (TSIA), Simmons Citrate (SCA), Sulfide Indole Motility (SIM), Methyl red (MR) Voges-Proskauer (VP). tested for MDR confirmation PCR. Based results this study, it showed 85% (134/158) positive coli. bacteria experienced antibiotic erythromycin 96% (129/134), ciprofloxacin 16% (22/134), antibiotics gentamicin 15% (20/134), aztreonam 4.4% (6/134) chloramphenicol 3% (5/58). The test while PCR 60% (12/20). Therefore, was found have gene, an at Surabaya market. Furthermore, APEC strains MDR, affect public health.

Data collected 431 by survey consisting 39 closed-ended questions divided into two parts (demographic characteristics a five-point Likert scale). Results showed that female students, aged 18 21 years, high schools, urban areas, with mixed diets, who own pets, predominated. Younger in agree significantly higher (p<0.001) welfare is necessary for sustainable agriculture, food safety, biological functioning, emotional state, natural behavior, as well zootechnical procedures rearing systems impairing animals compared final year studies, Agriculture Sad. Female younger have more concerned regarding (p<0.001). The findings study confirm are not homogeneous associated students’ demographic characteristics. Also, results suggest attention should be paid curriculum program indirectly improve animals.
