Abstract Trypauchen vagina (Bloch & Schneider, 1801) is a goby that lives burrowed into the substrata feeding on small invertebrates. It native to Indo‐pacific region, ranging from Kuwait China. Recently, this fish has been reported outside original range of distribution, being found in Mediterranean Sea, and more recently northeastern Brazilian coast. The reports are usually associated with Lessepsian migration, while Brazil possibly related ballast water transportation. In present work, we provide eight new records southeastern coast, all made São Paulo state, far first record. These additional raised concern since presence an alien species could implicate environmental economic losses.
