The current study focused on identifying the potential of irisin in mammalian reproduction. established role irisin, a proteolytic product FNDC5, adipose tissue browning, energy metabolism, and thermogenesis suggests its reproductive health, often disturbed by metabolic imbalances. Various studies mice demonstrated irisin′s improving spermatogenesis, sperm count, testosterone levels influencing hypothalamus–pituitary–gonadal axis. Moreover, females, there is fluctuation during critical stages, including menstrual cycles, puberty, pregnancy. Conditions like pregnancy complications, precocious polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) are found to have an association with abnormal levels. endometrial receptivity preventing endometritis also discussed this review. Overall, influence female male reproduction evident from various studies. However, further research needed elucidate mechanism as therapeutic or diagnostic tool for dysfunctions infertility.

Alzheimer disease, the leading cause of dementia, and polycystic ovary syndrome, one most prevalent female endocrine disorders, appear to be unrelated conditions. However, studies show that both disease entities have common risk factors, amount certain protein marker neurodegeneration is increased in PCOS. Reports on pathomechanism diseases point possibility denominators linking them. Dysregulation kynurenine pathway, insulin resistance, impairment hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, which are correlated with amyloid-beta aggregation these areas. This article discusses relationship between a particular focus role disorders tryptophan metabolism Based review available literature, we concluded systemic changes occurring PCOS influence neurodegeneration.
