Rapid growth in the global electric vehicle (EV) market has sparked extensive research, with charging time remaining a critical concern.This study presents descriptive analysis of research publications on EV from 2017 to April 2024, highlighting trends, characteristics, and perspectives identifying gaps.Scopus, an extensively utilized frequently cited bibliographic database among community, served as primary data source for this investigation.Based Scopus database, reveals growing interest optimizing times, notable peaks troughs publication trends.Interdisciplinary collaboration is evident, engineering, computer science, energy leading field.Key thematic clusters focus infrastructure, battery optimization, integration renewable sources.Research gaps emerging areas include fast-charging technology, management systems, grid integration.A future roadmap suggests investigating fundamental mechanisms, developing intelligent exploring socio-economic implications, fostering international collaborations.While progress been made, further needed address challenges drive innovation technology sustainable transportation solutions.
