ABSTRACT Background The study aims to explore the potential antianxiety effect of Froriepia subpinnata , a native plant in northern Iran, and it is considered an antiflatulent, appetizing, antiseptic, antispasmodic, diuretic. Despite its widespread use diets reputation for calming effects, no prior research has specifically investigated properties. Methods Rats were subjected variety stressors 24 days. treated with F. extract (100, 200, 400 mg/kg, orally) 14 days starting from 10th day stress. Then behavioral tests (elevated plus‐maze, open field, sucrose preference, Morris water maze, passive avoidance) examined. Real‐time PCR was used investigate changes expression candidate genes stress response memory. Oxidative markers corticosterone levels serum also measured. Results Chronic reduced performance anxiety memory, treatment dose‐dependently improved deficits caused by chronic At dose 200 mitigated on several genes, such as those encoding dopamine D 1 2 receptors, glutamate NMDA, AMPA receptor subunits (Grin1 Gria1, respectively), glucocorticoid mineralocorticoid cholecystokinin (CCK) CCK B receptor, neuropeptide Y, GABA A alpha subunit. Also, two TrkB BDNF significantly affected extract, demonstrating meaningful decreasing changes. Furthermore, led decrease oxidative elevation cortisol stressed animals. Conclusion In this study, we provide first evidence antistress effects along procognitive impact

Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most prevalent type of primary liver cancer and remains foremost cause cancer-related deaths globally. Dill (Anethum graveolens) seeds, rich in phytoconstituents, renowned for their pharmacological properties. This study performed an vitro evaluation to assess cytotoxic effects dill seed extract (DS-EE) on Huh-7 hepatocellular cell line. Moreover, investigated its viability, cellular morphology, oxidative damage, levels intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), expression apoptosis-related genes cells. cells were treated with DS-EE at concentrations ranging from 5 100 μg/mL a duration 24 h. The cytotoxicity findings showed that decreased viability suppressed growth dose-dependent way, IC50 value 60 μg/mL. Exposure h resulted significant elevation lipid peroxidation (LPO) notable decrease glutathione (GSH) content compared control. Furthermore, significantly increased ROS production while notably decreasing MMP level induces apoptosis by upregulating proapoptotic (p53, caspase-3, caspase-9, Bax) downregulating antiapoptotic gene, Bcl-2. Conclusion: exhibited effect increasing damage subsequently modulating genes. results this highlight anticancer effectiveness DS-EE, indicating as promising agent management.
