Ectopic fat deposition refers to lipid accumulation that affects metabolic function and tissue characteristics. Japanese Black cattle are distinguished by their high intramuscular content, which contributes distinctive character. However, the genetic mechanisms underlying these traits remain unclear. This study compared gene expression patterns in different muscle regions identify genes associated with accumulation. First, we conducted RNA sequencing analyze differences profiles among sternocleidomastoid, pectoralis minor, major muscles. In addition, single-cell nuclear was investigate cellular composition of tissues. Distinct were observed pectoralis, contains a proportion fat, adipocyte-related such as FABP4, SCD, ADIPOQ highly expressed. lipases PNPLA2, LPL, MGLL, LIPE predominantly expressed whereas PLA2G12A, PLD3, ALOX15 specifically myofibers. Moreover, subclass fibro-adipogenic progenitor cells differentiate into adipocytes found express related microenvironment formation, including ICAM1, TGFBRs, members COL4A family. provides novel insight regulation It improves our understanding molecular meat
