The urban built environment, comprising structures, roads, and various facilities, plays a key role in the formation of heat islands, which inflict considerable damage upon human society. This phenomenon is particularly pronounced areas characterized by rapid growth concentration populations, global trend, notably exemplified megacities such as Bangkok, Thailand. trend urbanization has witnessed unprecedented recent decades, with cities transforming into megametropolises that profoundly impact changes temperature, specifically island (UHI) induced areas. Elevated concentrations lead to increased city density, contributing higher temperatures within environment compared surrounding evolving land-use surface assumed heightened significance due development, necessitating accelerated efforts mitigate islands. study aims quantify influence on temperature Bangkok its inverse relationship between land (LST), coupled area was examined using Landsat 5 8 satellite imagery. analysis revealed positive correlation levels growth. Areas high-rise structures economic activities experienced most phenomenon. exhibited notable high density (high–high), signifying contributes elevated dissipation (significant R2 = 0.8582). Conversely, low-temperature, low-density (low–low) dispersed layout demonstrated effective cooling area, resulting significant lower local (R2 0.7404). These findings provide valuable insights assist governments related agencies expediting planning policy development aimed at reducing steering sustainable development.

Urbanization is expanding in Iran, leading to the emergence of three distinct socio-geographical areas: urban, rural, and suburban areas. These different areas may exhibit significant variations dietary patterns. This study investigates association between people's place residence their consumption food groups. utilized data from Iran's Food Nutrition Surveillance System (FNS). A total 1697 participants were randomly recruited rural (N = 568), urban 561) regions across Iran. Their intake was assessed using a validated dish-based semi-quantitative frequency questionnaire (DB-FFQ). Rural males consumed significantly more grains (35.51 g/day, p 0.03) than males, while females less dairy (-30.07 females. Additionally, fats oils (3.72 0.01 for 5.2 < 0.001 females) counterparts. Moreover, both found consume fruit compared individuals, with consuming − 47.41 g/day (p 0.001) 60.42 fruit. Findings showed that men's diets are characterized by higher fats, urbanization linked increased women. highlights worrying lack findings underscore necessity implementing specific nutritional policies promote diversity various residential

The impact of sustainable mobility may be considered through the mode non-motorization, which vary by spatial environmental conditions, especially accessibility active in a necessarily safe, comfortable, and pleasant atmosphere. Sustainable comprises willingness to allow commuting behaviors on non-motorized travel for safety green ethics. These chiefly participate create livable places, improve health well-being, promote quality life economic growth. By contrast, an impoverished street environment decreases possibility relies motorization. It is essential explore perception road users diverse features networks sidewalks directly affecting user behavior preferences about motorization non-motorization. This study evaluated multi-indicators urban (SUM) group users, with data gathered questionnaire-based survey. 1,998 Pathum Thani Province inhabitants Thailand were asked evaluate their neighborhood characteristics SUM indicators. In addition different social dimensions socioeconomic backgrounds, transportation among trip makers perceptions indicators classified factor analysis using principal components visualization. A significant connection exists between mental health, particularly depression, and travel. This study aims to explore the relationship travel satisfaction, perception of streetscape, depression by comparing non-older adults older adults. Subjective well-being serves as a concept for measuring health derived from satisfaction streetscape across age groups. Additionally, Geriatric Depression Scale (15-item GDS) was employed specifically assess depression. The survey conducted among respondents residing in Bangkok Metropolitan Region (BMR) with sample size 3600 which is segmented into three groups model: early adulthood (18–34 years), middle (35–59 later maturity (60 years above). Multiple regression analysis investigate health. results suggest that both have statistically impact on relation highlights variations stressors different cohorts. Healthy living and well-being at all ages are one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Active mobility is a must as basic choice for healthy individuals communities in sustainable cities. However, commuting by walking presents critical challenge city with rapid urbanization, leading to auto dependency rather than non-motorized mode residents' daily mobility. By employing spatial configurations urban physical elements, interaction between its association active can be unfolded. Bangkok, megacity Thailand, used case study objective assessments generating data from on-street images incorporating it into analysis through geographic information systems (GIS). The finding based on results related pedestrian volume then quantified. linkage environment—both sidewalks their surrounding context—can demonstrate significance term relationship. The expansion of cities and land use changes have led to the emergence peri-urban areas representing a transition between fully urbanized agricultural regions in Southeast Asia. Peri-urban communities provide essential ecosystem services but are vulnerable climate-related disruptions socioeconomic challenges. Utilizing their unique characteristics, can contribute sustainable development resilience. This study assesses potential meet future challenges for changing world, focusing on local pandan farming community Pathum Thani, approximately 53 km north Bangkok, using Community-Based Resilience Analysis (CoBRA) approach. A formally established group households identified COVID-19, water quality, solid waste as primary disruptive economic stability resources (land ownership, financial security, government support), social support (collaborative community, healthcare facilities), an environmental dimension (sufficient food clean water), information (news knowledge update) key resilience which highlight comprehensive approach hazard concludes that was moderately resilient hazards COVID-19 disrupting event over past 10 years. To address agriculture, it is suggested focus enhancing diversification, strengthening networks systems, implementing management practices, promoting access timely accurate information.
