Efficient synthesis of highly functionalized cyclopentenols with an exocyclic Z double bond was investigated via a (3 + 2) annulation reaction 2-aroyl-D-A (donor-acceptor) cyclopropanes alkynoates in the presence DABCO. This synthetic approach featured wide range readily available 2-aroyl-substituted D-A diverse functional groups, densely substituted two stereogenic centers and stereocontrolled manner had operationally simple mild conditions.
