Herein, a photoinduced heterogeneous catalytic system merging g-C3N4 and NaI has been established for the difunctionalization of alkenes in conjunction with heteroarenes methyl carbazate. This approach is notable its broad substrate tolerance, encompassing wide range leading to formation corresponding esters moderate good yields. Abstract With Ag/g‐C 3 N 4 semiconductor as the heterogeneous photocatalyst, visible light promoted synthesis of unsymmetric diaryl chalcogenides could be achieved under additive‐free and mild conditions. A series were generated in good to excellent yields with high functional group tolerance. The photocatalyst is easily recovered from reaction mixture reused at least 5 times, opening way for larger‐scale industrial applications this type photocatalytic bond‐forming reactions.
