Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative joint disease that progressively destroys articular cartilage, leading to increased friction and severe pain. Therefore, OA can be treated by restoring the lubricating properties of cartilage. In this study, recent advances in lubricants for treatment are reviewed both single-function multifunctional lubricants. Single-function mainly include glycosaminoglycans, lubricin, phospholipids, whereas composed anti-inflammatory bifunctional hydrogels, stem cell-loaded drug-loaded nanoparticles. This review emphasizes importance lubrication capacity explores structural features, properties, role these modulating intracellular inflammatory responses metabolism. Current challenges future research directions field also discussed, with aim providing scientific basis new ideas clinical OA.

The antifouling performance of a zwitterionic sulfobetaine-hydroxyethyl-containing polymethylmethacrylate ter-co-polymer (PSBM) is evaluated against three photosynthetic strains, namely Chlorella sp., Nannochloropsis and Arthrospira maxima. PSBM-coated (PMMA) surfaces displayed significantly reduced propensity for biofilm formation compared to rough untreated controls, leaving clean after 7 days exposure. A tribological approach was adopted estimate the long-term durability PSBM coating. Repeated cycles exposure A. maxima biomass subject coating stress continuous challenges. After several cycles, maintains higher efficacy than PMMA surface, suggesting stability high potential in photobioreactor applications.

Advances in computational intelligence and robotics book series, Journal Year: 2024, Volume and Issue: unknown, P. 33 - 64

Published: Oct. 25, 2024

This chapter aims to obtain various inferences about the health systems of countries by using multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods on drug consumption data. Pharmaceutical is seen as a useful resource for assessing performance systems. comprehensively analyse combining CoCoSo and TOPSIS-Sort-B methods. will be used assess countries' each group within framework anatomical therapeutic chemical (ATC) classification. For ATC class, ranked method classified good-medium-poor method. The findings have potential valuable managers, policy makers, economists, researchers, other relevant stakeholders. It also serve practical guide researchers who want apply MCDM in field health.
