The global COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the media landscape in Japan, as news coverage that previously focused on preparation for Tokyo 2020 Olympics shifted towards pandemic-related issues. Increased reports current issues, including those related to gig economy workers, have emerged. Social restrictions and rise online activities driven growth of which was initially needed address imbalance talent supply demand, along with a declining young population. However, lack legal oversight led various ultimately resulting formation labor unions demanding job justice workers. Previous studies been conducted such injustices proposals regulating standards like collective bargaining, but there is still research exploring reporting Japan. Therefore, this study aims identify issues focusing food delivery platform workers through analysis. Data collected from archive Asahi Shimbun February 2021 December 2022 using search terms "gig economy" "uber eats." findings were obtained content analysis assistance Leximancer software. Abstract This study aims to provide an investigation of the containment and mitigation strategies encompassing entirety pandemic in Taiwan. descriptive, observational used COVID-19 data from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, analysed news releases Taiwanese health authority. Statistics provided evidence outbreak severity through infection mortality rates, while qualitative results document review offered insights on actions taken by government chronologically 2 February 2020 31 December 2022. All three countries experienced significant peaks Taiwan had two distinct peaks, one late May another October. Korea a single, high peak March, Japan multiple smaller waves, biggest wave August. Similarly, weekly rates peaked 2022 for all after surge their infected cases, with (5.15/100 000) (4.69/100 having higher than (1.65/100 000). Results analysis showed that Taiwan’s early measures might have delayed epidemic curve, allowing time better preparation proactive responses. However, lack clear transition plan vulnerability elderly population contributed rates. Despite ongoing challenges, avoided nationwide lockdowns relied targeted restrictions control transmission virus. this article offer narratives, reflections, experiences case which may potentially present promising opportunities impact other settings future pandemics.

Introduction Foreign residents in Japan often face challenges accessing healthcare due to language barriers, potentially leading health inequities. This study aimed assess the utilization and impact of human-mediated translation services a specific medical setting Tokyo. Methods A retrospective investigation was conducted on records foreign patients who utilized at Navitas Clinic Tachikawa (Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan) from November 2017 December 2021. Data age, gender, used, department visited, diagnosis, insurance status, booking methods were analyzed. Results Out 124 during period, 69 (56%) male, 55 (44%) female. The median age 35 years, with range 3 61 years. English predominant used by 34 (59%), followed Chinese for nine (16%) Spanish four (7%). majority, 107 (86%) visited internal medicine department, (7%) consulted dermatology, six (5%) pediatrics. Regarding 47 (81%) insured, three uninsured Japanese national system, eight (14%) self-pay. primary mode appointment reception desk, 112 (90%) using this method, while 12 (10%) made reservations online. Conclusions findings underscore importance improving accessibility Japan, emphasizing need address barriers promote equity clinical settings. Future studies should also explore faced patient-physician interactions linguistic perspective potential technological solutions enhance these services.
