We created a comprehensive, four-part, in-person, interactive community education series to teach informal, unpaid care partners of persons living with dementia (PLWD) how support their PLWD, negotiate common day-to-day challenges, and navigate predictable situations that arise as the disease progresses over time. The purpose this qualitative study was explore impact on participant knowledge, practices, perceptions caregiving. Inspired by U.S. Medicare Cognitive Assessment Care Plan Service visit 4Ms Age-Friendly Health Systems Framework, our curriculum focused (1) expanding knowledge about progression, (2) developing skills better connect work (3) self-care for partners, (4) sharing resources future planning. program delivered in three communities Central Pennsylvania (one rural, one small, medium metropolitan) attended 146 individuals. Both session final evaluation data were assessed using thematic analysis five major categories emerged: lessons learned, activating new changes, assuming responsibility is challenging, I need more help. Ongoing education, emotional support, access quality assistance long-term planning are all needed require sustained support.
