Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common hormone disorder affecting about one in seven reproductive-aged women worldwide and approximately 6 million United States (U.S.). PCOS can be a significant burden to those affected associated with an increased prevalence of mental health (MH) disorders such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, postpartum depression. We undertook this study determine excess economic MH order allow for more accurate prioritization public priority. Methods: Following PRISMA reporting guidelines systematic review, we searched PubMed, Web Science, EBSCO, Medline, Scopus, PsycINFO through July 16, 2021, studies on PCOS. Excluded were not humans, without controls, original data, or peer reviewed. As depression by far assessed studies, performed our meta-analysis these disorders. Meta-analyses using DerSimonian–Laird random effects model compute pooled estimates ratios (PRs) associations between then calculated direct costs related U.S. dollars (USD) suffering from alone. The quality selected was Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Results: screened 78 articles title/abstract, 43 full text, included 25 articles. Pooled PRs 1.42 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.32–1.52) 1.65 CI: 1.44–1.89) 1.48 PR: 1.06–2.05) 1.20 0.96–1.50) relative controls. In U.S., additional healthcare estimated $1.939 billion/yr, $1.678 $0.644 billion/yr 2021 USD, respectively. Postpartum excluded cost analyses due non-significant result. Taken together, $4.261 USD. Conclusions: Overall, annual PCOS, namely exceeds $4 billion USD population together prior work, data suggest that healthcare-related $15 yearly, considering diagnosis, PCOS-associated MH, reproductive, vascular, metabolic has much same across world, attributable globally enormous, mandating scientific policy community increase its focus important disorder. OBJECTIVE Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is common among females, with significant metabolic and reproductive comorbidities. We describe PCOS development in a pediatric population. METHODS assessed cardiometabolic biomarkers adiposity at the midchildhood (mean 7.9 y), early teen 13.1 midteen 17.8 y) visits 417 females prospective Project Viva cohort. defined via self-reported diagnosis or ovulatory dysfunction hyperandrogenism midlate adolescence. used multivariable logistic regression to assess associations of markers each visit PCOS. RESULTS Adolescents (n = 56, 13%) versus without had higher mean (SD) BMI z-score truncal fat mass (0.66 [0.99] vs 0.30 [1.04]; 3.5 kg [2.6] 2.7 [1.5]), (0.88 [1.01] 0.25 [1.08]; 9.4 [6.7] 6.1 [3.4]), (0.78 [1.03] 0.33 [0.97]; 11.6 [7.2] 9.1 [4.9]) as well lower adiponectin leptin ratio (0.65 [0.69] 1.04 [0.97]) (0.33 [0.26] 0.75 [1.21]) visits. In models adjusted for maternal PCOS, education child race ethnicity (social factors), we found odds per 1-SD increase (odds [OR] 1.42; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.03–1.95) (OR 1.61; CI 1.14–2.28) adiponectin/leptin 0.14; 0.03–0.58). CONCLUSIONS Childhood excess adipose tissue may be first signs later risk.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder affecting women of reproductive age. It characterized by symptoms such as hyperandrogenemia, oligo or anovulation and polycystic ovarian, significantly impacting quality life. However, the practical implementation machine learning (ML) in PCOS diagnosis hindered limitations related to data size algorithmic models. To address this research gap, we have increased sample our study aim utilize two ML algorithms analyze validate diagnostic biomarkers, well explore immune cell infiltration patterns PCOS. We performed RNA-seq analysis on granulosa cell, including 13 samples from normal controls 25 with The were combined publicly available databases. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a medical condition that impacts millions of women worldwide; however, due to lack public awareness, as well the expensive testing involved in identification PCOS, 70% cases go undiagnosed. Therefore, primary objective this study design an expert machine learning (ML) model for early diagnosis PCOS based on initial symptoms and health indicators; two datasets were amalgamated preprocessed accomplish goal, resulting new symptomatic dataset with 12 attributes. An ensemble (EL) model, seven base classifiers, deep (DL) meta-level classifier, are proposed. The hyperparameters EL optimized through nature-inspired walrus optimization (WaO), cuckoo search (CSO), random (RSO) algorithms, leading WaOEL, CSOEL, RSOEL models, respectively. results obtained prove supremacy designed WaOEL over other prediction accuracy 92.8% area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) 0.93; moreover, feature importance analysis, presented forest (RF) Shapley additive values (SHAP) positive predictions, highlights crucial clinical insights need intervention. Our findings suggest patients features related obesity high cholesterol more likely be diagnosed positive. Most importantly, it inferred from without tests possible proposed which helps clinicians make better informed decisions, identify comorbidities, reduce harmful long-term effects PCOS.

Background Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common reproductive endocrine disorders among women age, often accompanied by a series symptoms such as hirsutism, hair loss, menstrual and obesity, resulting in an increasing risk depression anxiety patients. Methods A total 413 patients Reproductive Medicine Center Second Hospital Lanzhou University from June 2021 to 2023 were enrolled. We collected sociodemographic information lifestyle-related factors using structured questionnaire. Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) used evaluate psychological status subjects. Sleep-related variables assessed Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), metabolic measures patients' medical records. Results Compared with control group, PCOS younger, average age was (27.39 ± 3.48) years old, BMI value higher, difference statistically significant ( p < 0.05). Purpose of the Research: Women’s reproductive health issues represent a major source burden to quality life, productivity, and care cost, with uneven access care. Foundational interventions based on lifestyle food as medicine hold promise one equitable way improve individual family health. In this paper, we summarize culinary approaches two most common diagnoses, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) infertility. Major findings: For women PCOS and/or infertility, an overall healthy eating pattern, including whole-food plant-based or Mediterranean diet, carries clear benefits. Exercise is benefit in population, likely so for infertility patients well. Both diagnoses are risk factors anxiety depression, more attention mental behavioral strategies needed. Given these findings, notion holds promise, but studies mixed. Conclusions: can respond well interventions. These approaches, currently underutilized, be implemented widely minimal also obstetric, neonatal, child outcomes via epigenetic phenomena.
