Diabetes mellitus termed as metabolic disorder is a collection of interlinked diseases and mainly body’s inability to manage glucose level which leads cardiovascular diseases, renal failure, neurological disorders, many others. The drugs contemporarily used for diabetes have inevitable side effects, them become less responsive this multifactorial disorder. Momordica charantia commonly known bitter gourd has bioactive compounds with antidiabetic properties. current study was designed use computational methods discover the best peptides devised from hypoglycemic polypeptide-P M. charantia. binding affinity interaction patterns were evaluated against four receptor proteins (i.e., agonists insulin inhibitors sodium-glucose cotransporter 1, dipeptidyl peptidase-IV, transporter 2) using molecular docking approach. A total thirty-seven docked these receptors. Out which, top five each shortlisted based on their S-scores affinities. Finally, eight ligands LIVA, TSEP, EKAI, LKHA, EALF, VAEK, DFGAS, EPGGGG) selected strictly followed Lipinski’s rule exhibited good ADMET profiling. One peptide EPGGGG showed activity towards SGLT1 proteins. complex both targets subjected 50 ns dynamics simulations MM-GBSA energy test that concluded complexes highly stable, intermolecular interactions dominated by van der Waals electrostatic energies. Overall, strongly fulfilled drug-like evaluation criterion proved

Abstract Background The use of cannabis as medicine (CaM) both prescribed and non-prescribed has increased markedly in the last decade, mirrored a global shift policy towards more permissive stance. There is some evidence that functions substitute for prescription drugs, particularly opioids; however, knowledge needed on motives substitution users, their patterns use, perceived effects use. Aims To explore who substitutes drugs with cannabis, type substituted used, impact drug well terms experienced side effects. Methods A self-selected convenience sample was recruited through social media, public patient organizations to take part an anonymous online survey. Inclusion criteria were 18 years or older (prescribed non-prescribed) medical purpose. Results final included 2.841 respondents which majority (91%) used than half (54.6%) had CaM purpose replacing drug. Compared non-substitution users likely be women treatment chronic pain other somatic conditions. Pain medication (67.2%), antidepressants (24.5%), arthritis (20.7%) most common types replaced CaM. Among 38.1% reported termination 45.9% substantial decrease frequent CBD-oil (65.2%), followed by ‘hash, pot skunk’ (36.6%). More (65.8%) found much effective compared 85.5% associated worse Conclusion frequently opioids. research long-term consequences CaM, including from low high THC products specific mental health

Since legalization, cannabis/marijuana has been gaining considerable attention as a functional ingredient in food. ∆-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), and other cannabinoids are key bioactive compounds with health benefits. The oral consumption of cannabis transports much less hazardous chemicals than smoking. Nevertheless, the response to is biphasically dose-dependent (hormesis; low-dose stimulation high-dose inhibition) wide individuality responses. Thus, exact same dose preparation may be beneficial for some but toxic others. purpose this review highlight concept individual variations cannabinoids, which leads challenge establishing standard safe doses products general population. mechanisms actions, acute chronic toxicities, factors affecting responses updated. Based on literature review, we found that depends exposure (delivery route, duration, frequency, interactions food drugs), (age, sex), susceptibility (genetic polymorphisms cannabinoid receptor gene, N-acylethanolamine-hydrolyzing enzymes, THC-metabolizing epigenetic regulations). Owing responses, safest way use cannabis-containing start low, go slow, stay low.

In this regard, review is dedicated to discussing the promise of integrating high-pressure CO2 technologies into Cannabis sativa L. processing chain valorize its valuable pharmaceutical properties food biomass. To do this, cannabis plant, cannabinoids, endocannabinoid system were reviewed understand their therapeutic side effects. The supercritical fluid (SFE) technique was presented as a smart alternative producing bioproducts. impact SFE operating conditions on compound examined aerial parts (inflorescences, stems, leaves), seeds, byproducts. Furthermore, opportunities using non-thermal biomass addressed industrial hemp valorization, focusing biorefinery simultaneously produce cannabidiol new ingredients applications plant-based products.

Global food insecurity is mostly the result of human-animal competition for food, as well recent population growth, erratic weather patterns and environmental shocks. Therefore, maximising production animal proteins can reduce between demand consumption. Hence, current review aimed at outlining use hemp on production, health reproductive performances farm animals. The data used in this were accessed using Google Scholar, Science Direct, ResearchGate directory open-access journals. It was found that industrial hemp, particularly its derivatives such hemp-seed meal oil, has gained attention potential benefits nutrition health. impact animals, their productivity, performance, an area ongoing research. Our findings assessment nutritional to livestock have shown be a great source because, cake, byproduct oil extraction, rich essential non-essential amino acids, fibre, healthy fats, including omega-3 omega-6 fatty acids. Furthermore, may due acid profile known positive effects reproduction (optimal fertility gestation) health, anti-inflammatory properties, which could benefit conditions related inflammation. Additionally, contains compounds cannabinoids terpenes might offer therapeutic effects, although these animals are still being studied. Cannabinoids are part of the most popular group illicit substances in Western world. The word “cannabinoid” refers to any chemical substance, regardless structure or origin, that binds body’s cannabinoid receptors and has effects similar those produced by Cannabis plant. Regarding their cannabinoids can be classified into endocannabinoids, phytocannabinoids synthetic cannabinoids. behavioral physiological have received particular attention over last few decades, including sensations euphoria, relaxation loss concentration, with repeated use being associated short long-term side effects, respiratory cardiovascular disorders, cognitive changes, psychoses, schizophrenia mood disorders. On other hand, recent investigations proposed a promising therapeutic potential cannabinoid-based drugs for wide range medical situations, neurological psychiatric among indications. growing popularity compounds, both recreational purposes, been accompanied an equally continuous evolution knowledge regarding harmful beneficial effects. However, there several open questions challenges answered, which require more better investigations. This article’s main objectives are: i) understand importance action humans; ii) identify different types exist differences action; iii) distinguish legislative framework consumption; iv) possible adverse consumption, as well benefits; v) know existing medical-scientific evidence terms potential, particularly relation aspects safety efficacy; vi) encourage critical thinking about consumption cannabinoids, based on currently available gaps knowledge.
