Importance Cancer and its treatment negatively impact the mental health of older adults. The potential exercise interventions as a complementary to alleviate psychological impacts cancer is promising, but there are gaps in current literature. Objective To determine if associated with improvements outcomes among adults cancer. Data Sources PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, Cochrane databases were searched from database inception November 5, 2024. Search terms used geriatrics , depression anxiety quality life . Study Selection English-language randomized clinical trials (RCTs) that analyzed association various at least 1 3 (depression, anxiety, or health-related quality-of-life [HRQOL]) included. control groups given usual care. Studies included mean age participants was than 60 years had diagnosis any regardless comorbidities. Extraction Synthesis screened, data extracted by 2 independent authors. Random-effects meta-analyses meta-regressions for analysis. Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses guideline followed. Main Outcomes Measures primary depression, HRQOL. Standardized difference (SMD) quantify outcomes. Results A total 27 RCTs 1929 Meta-analyses observed an significant reduction levels (SMD = −0.53; 95% CI, −0.79 −0.28) −0.39; −0.66 −0.12) overall HRQOL 0.63; 0.10 1.17). Subgroup analyses revealed mind-body significantly improved −0.89; −1.51 −0.27) −0.77; −1.54 −0.01) compared conventional interventions. Conclusion In this systematic review meta-analysis RCTs, found be reduced These findings suggest care professionals policymakers should focus more on implementing improve vulnerable population.

Chronic respiratory diseases (CRD), is a group of disorders, primarily chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma, which are characterized by high prevalence disability, recurrent acute exacerbations, multiple comorbidities, resulting in exercise limitations reduced health-related quality life. Exercise training, an important tool rehabilitation, reduces adverse symptoms patients relieving limitations, increasing gas exchange, central peripheral hemodynamic forces, enhancing skeletal muscle function. Aerobic, resistance, high-intensity intermittent exercises, other emerging forms such as aquatic Tai Chi effectively improve capacity, physical fitness, function with CRD. The underlying mechanisms include enhancement the body's immune response, better control inflammatory acceleration interaction between vagus sympathetic nerves to exchange. Here, we reviewed new evidence benefits intervention rehabilitation disease, bronchial bronchiectasis, interstitial lung cancer.

Cachexia is a prevalent muscle wasting syndrome among people with advanced cancer that profoundly impacts patient quality of life (QoL) and physical function. Exercise can improve QoL, function, overall health in may be an important addition to treatment approaches for cachexia. Greater understanding patients' perception exercise help elucidate the feasibility implementing interventions cachexia facilitate design patient-centered interventions. Due to the aging of population, in 70% cases, a new cancer diagnosis equals geriatric patient. In this beyond concept mortality and morbidity, functional capacity, disability, quality life remain crucial. fact, when status is preserved, pathogenetic curve towards disability will stop or even regress. The present systematic review investigated effectiveness physical exercise, as part holistic assessment patient, for preventing improving patient’s life, partially reducing all-cause mortality. This evidence must point decentralization care by implementing development rehabilitation programs elderly patients either before after anti-cancer therapy.

Abstract Objective Explore the feasibility of a mobile health(mHealth) and virtual reality (VR) based nutrition-exercise-psychology integrated rehabilitation model in Chinese cancer patients. Methods We recruited patients Oncology department Affiliated Changzhou No. 2 People’s Hospital Nanjing Medical University from October 2022 to April 2023. The program was provided by team medical oncologists, dietitians, psychotherapists, oncology specialist nurses. Participants received standard anti-cancer therapy intervention including hospitalized group-based exercise classes, at-home physical activity prescription, behavior change education, oral nutrition supplements, psychological counseling. An effective course includes two consecutive hospitalization periods home-based (8 weeks). Access as well changes aspects physical, nutritional, status. Results At cutoff date 2023, recruitment rate 75% (123/165). 11.4%patients were lost follow-up, 3.25% withdrew halfway. Respectively, completion nutrition, exercise, psychology 85%,55%, 63%. Nutrition interventions show highest compliance. parameters psychology, muscle mass, quality life after showed significant improvements ( P < .05). There no statistical difference > .05) handgrip strength 6-minute walking speed. Conclusion It is feasible conduct mHealth VR-based A larger multi-center trial warranted future. Abstract Background Parameters to adapt individual treatment strategies for patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) are urgently needed. The present study aimed evaluate body composition parameters as predictors of overall survival (OS) in PDAC patients. Methods Measurements were performed on computed tomography scans at diagnosis. Height‐standardized and Body Mass Index‐ sex‐adjusted regression formulas deriving cut‐offs from a healthy population used. Kaplan‐Meier method the log‐rank test was analysis. Independent prognostic factors identified uni‐ multivariable Cox analyses. Results In total, 354 analyzed. model, besides tumor stage resection status, only myosteatosis (HR 1.53; 95% CI 1.10–2.14, p = 0.01) an independent factor OS among parameters. Subgroup analyses revealed that impact higher ≤68 years age, advanced stages without curative intended resection. Conclusions analysis one largest Caucasian cohorts date, demonstrated be PDAC. To improve outcomes, prospective trials aiming investigate utility early assessment subsequent intervention by dieticians, sports medicine physicians, physiotherapists warranted.
