Abstract The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) require the implementation of 167 targets aimed at eradicating poverty, protecting planet and improving quality life humankind. United Nations calls for uniform sustainable development global, local individual levels. This research pursues a twofold objective: first, to obtain evidence on extent which achievement may be across territories; second, identify socioeconomic characteristics that contribute development. empirical analysis has been carried out using clustering, cross efficiency contingency tables applied statistical information from 101 municipalities in Spain Italy. results provide inequalities between territories, revealing only dimensions People (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) Prosperity 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) desired homogeneity attained. Notable differences are found degree compliance with other SDGs. Furthermore, it is shown associated geographical location substantially gap municipalities. In order ensure countries' development, there need environmental policies adapted specific features each region.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set a vision for more sustainable world, to be realized by 2030. Progress date is insufficient and implementation challenges are many, including the need strategies that maximize synergies mitigate trade-offs conflicts among goals. This scoping review synthesizes 51 recent scientific articles on interlinkages, with findings can help decision-makers address this challenge. We identify recurring patterns of SDG SDGs promote other (e.g., 4, 6, 17) those at risk due negative impacts from progress in areas 14 15). Such inform national local implementation. Abstract Sustainable tourism can combine recreation for people, economic opportunities entrepreneurs, and environmental protection, but mountain tourism, climate change the predicted reductions in snowfall require urgent action. Therefore, this study aims to identify sustainable strategies consumption patterns using a multi‐criteria decision methodology data collected through an online survey expert opinions. The results show importance of stakeholder engagement relevance three strategies: (i) zero‐emission lodges; (ii) energy communities, (iii) ski lifts. As well as pointing out need sustainability awareness education. While respondents pay great deal attention sustainability, analysis highlights policy interventions safeguard tourism: financing conversion facilities; expanding infrastructure reach resorts, rewarding consumers choosing certified resort.

Abstract The 2020s are an essential decade for achieving the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For this, SDG research needs to provide evidence that can be translated into concrete actions. However, studies use different data, resulting in incomparable findings. Researchers primarily databases provided by United Nations (UN), World Bank Group (WBG), Bertelsmann Stiftung & Solutions Network (BE‐SDSN). We compile these one unified database examine effects of data selection on our understanding interactions. Among databases, we observed more than similar Differences synergies trade‐offs mainly occur SDGs environmentally oriented. Due increased availability, offers a nuanced reliable view Thus, may lead diverse findings, fostering actions might neglect or exacerbate trade‐offs.

Abstract While the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) index is a widely employed method of measuring progress in United Nations (UN) SDGs, as it allows comparisons across countries and regions, does not usually offer any indication to how move SDGs forward. To address this deficit, we analyzed impact offsetting effects changes individual SDG scores on from 2015 2018 at provincial level China. Future priority goals are also revealed by accessing interactions among SDGs. Our findings show that both number experienced an increase or decrease score degree change have major score. For example, decline national represents more than 15 provinces, while may mask fact some provinces their scores. In addition, can similarities strengths weaknesses even different geographical zones. The analysis suggests prioritizing promotion SDG7 (Affordable Clean Energy) SDG12 (Responsible Production Consumption) will advance synergistic development Overall, our study highlights necessity focus only regions with declining aggregated but order implement whole. Meanwhile, leveraging similarity inform sustainable management policies contribute overall implementation regions.

The pivotal role that urbanisation plays in global development trajectories is clearly acknowledged by the United Nations 2030 Agenda that, among its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, explicitly argues favour of cities and human settlements to be more inclusive, safe, resilient sustainable (SDG11).
