Introduction: Transcranial near-infrared photobiomodulation (NIR-PBM) is a new noninvasive procedure which transcranially applies wavelength to the scalp with laser or light-emitting diode (LED) source. Improvement in neurological psychological symptoms has been reported following light irradiation. However, our knowledge, there no study investigate effects of transcranial NIR-PBM on motor performance directly. Therefore, objective this was short-term healthy human subjects. Methods: In experimental single-blind randomized clinical trial study, 56 right-handed participants, whose ages ranged from 18 30, were randomly assigned (1) Real NIR-PBMC3 group (n=14), (2) Sham (3) NIR-PBMC4 and (4) (n=14). We applied 808 nm irradiation energy density 60 J/cm2 power 200 mw/cm2 C3 C4 points scalp. The number finger taps as an indicator assessed by finger-tapping test (FTT) before after corresponding for 5 minutes. Results: results showed that both right left hands use real significantly increased (P<0.05). Conclusion: concluded using source point cortex people can increase improvement.

Over the last seventy years or so, many previous studies have shown that photobiomodulation, use of red to near infrared light on body tissues, can improve central and peripheral neuronal function survival in both health disease. Abstract A systematic review was conducted to determine the trends in devices and parameters used for brain photobiomodulation (PBM). The revised studies included clinical cadaveric approaches, which light stimuli were applied head and/or neck. PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science Google Scholar databases search. total 2133 records screened, from 97 this review. that extracted analysed each article device design, actuation area, site, wavelength, mode operation, power density, energy output, per session treatment time. To organize information, 11 categories defined, according their characteristics. most category laser handpieces, relate 21% all devices, while 28% not described. Studies cognitive function physiological characterisation are well defined ones with more tangible results. There is a lack consistency when reporting PBM studies, several articles under defining stimulation protocol, wide variety same health conditions (e.g., Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease) resulting positive outcomes. Standardization report these warranted, as sham-controlled comparative have greatest effect on treatments different neurological conditions.

Abstract In recent years, transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) has been developing as a promising method to protect and repair brain tissues against damages. The aim of our systematic review is examine the results available in literature concerning efficacy tPBM changing activity humans, either healthy individuals, or patients with neurological diseases. Four databases were screened for references containing terms encompassing photobiomodulation, activity, imaging, human. We also analysed quality included studies using validated tools. Results subjects showed that even after single session, can be effective influencing activity. particular, different approaches – focal stimulation helmet global seemed act at both vascular level by increasing regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) neural neurons. addition, was sufficient induce change functional connectivity across networks. disease sparser; nevertheless, they indicated could improve rCBF several regions. Our highlighted heterogeneity methods generated, together need more randomised controlled trials summary, on function, but consistency needed order appreciate fully underlying mechanisms precise outcomes.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) affects local blood flow regulation through nitric oxide generation, and various studies have reported on its effect improving cognitive function in neurodegenerative diseases. However, the of PBM areas vertebral arteries (VA) internal carotid (ICA), which are major blood-supplying to brain, has not been previously investigated. We aimed determine whether irradiating VA ICA, improved regional cerebral (rCBF) function.Fourteen patients with mild impairments were treated PBM. Cognitive assessment single-photon emission computed tomography implemented at baseline end PBM.Regarding rCBF, statistically significant trends found medial prefrontal cortex, lateral anterior cingulate occipital cortex. Based assessments, overall function, memory, frontal/executive function. We confirmed possibility that treatment ICA could positively affect by increasing rCBF. The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, is associated cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) progression. Once it enters brain, virus stimulates accumulation of amyloids in brain that are highly toxic to neural cells. These may trigger neurological symptoms COVID-19. meningeal lymphatic vessels (MLVs) play an important role removal toxins mediate viral drainage from brain. MLVs considered a promising target prevent COVID-19-exacerbated dementia. However, there limited methods for augmentation MLV function. This review highlights new discoveries field COVID-19-mediated amyloid development strategies stimulate clearance through other pathways. based on innovative treating dysfunction induced infection, including use photobiomodulation, plasmalogens, medicinal herbs, which offer hope addressing challenges posed virus.
