Introduction Flourishing is an evolving wellbeing construct and outcome of interest across the social biological sciences. Despite some conceptual advancements, there remains limited consensus on how to measure flourishing, as well distinguish it from closely related constructs, such thriving life satisfaction. This paper aims provide overview comparison diverse scales that have been developed flourishing among adolescent adult populations recommendations for future studies seeking use in research. Methods In accordance with Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA), we conducted a scoping review PubMed EMBASE introducing original (defined previously unpublished mental health or used “flourishing” its definition). Studies focusing were published before April 28, 2023 considered eligible inclusion. Results Out 781 retrieved, identified seven covering unique scales. We find all are multidimensional assess features over monthly yearly intervals. While most (six out seven) include indicators both hedonic eudaimonic wellbeing, operationalization these dimensions varies considerably between Several translated validated multiple geographical contexts, including higher- lower-income countries. Introduction The field of mental well-being interventions includes numerous studies smartphone app-based programs, but there is a research-to-retail gap where many pertain to apps that are not publicly available, used as standalone or tested in the general population, and available (or their proprietary in-app measures) have yet be submitted empirical testing. Furthermore, few offer multicomponent interventions, despite such having demonstrated efficacy outside context. In response these openings literature marketplace, we developed ReNeuWell, an iPhone app designed measure user’s (via validated Composure, Own-worth, Mastery, Positivity, Achievement Satisfaction for Well-being (COMPAS-W) scale) improve via personalised, program activities informed by peer-reviewed evidence base. There is need for low-cost, evidence-based interventions aimed at preventing illness promoting well-being. Five activity domains appear be linked with promotion across populations: connecting others, being active, taking notice, learning, generous/giving. The rising prevalence of mental health issues in children, adolescents, and young adults has become an escalating public issue, impacting approximately 10%-20% people on a global scale. Positive psychology interventions (PPIs) can act as powerful promotion tools to reach wide-ranging audiences that might otherwise be challenging access. This increased access would enable prevention disorders widespread well-being by enhancing self-efficacy, thereby supporting the achievement tangible objectives.

Self-compassion is positively correlated with life satisfaction. However, no previous work examined the cross-cultural difference regarding effect size of this correlation. Using 79 independent samples ( N = 23,976) from 26 countries/regions, three-level meta-analysis synthesized sizes their correlation, partitioned between-study heterogeneity into within- and between-country levels, moderating role national culture according to revised Minkov-Hofstede model. Results indicated that self-compassion was satisfaction, a moderate-to-large (.40 ≤ r .47); 33.66% 35.73% variance could be attributed within-country heterogeneities; correlation stronger in collected more individualistic societies. This study highlights may fit differently different cultural realities importance raising awareness future research.

Abstract Background While previous studies have suggested that higher levels of cognitive performance may be related to greater wellbeing and resilience, little is known about the associations between neural circuits engaged by tasks whether genetics or environment contribute these associations. Methods The current study consisted 253 monozygotic dizygotic adult twins, including a subsample 187 early-life trauma-exposed with functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging data from TWIN-E study. Wellbeing was measured using COMPAS-W Scale while resilience defined as level positive adaptation (higher wellbeing) in presence trauma exposure. We probed both sustained attention working memory processes Continuous Performance Task scanner. Results found significant negative activation bilateral anterior insula during attention. Multivariate twin modelling showed association left right mostly driven common genetic factors, accounting for 71% 87% total phenotypic correlation variables, respectively. There were no wellbeing/resilience activity updating. Conclusions findings suggest associated less condition requiring but not This possibly suggests pattern ‘neural efficiency’ (i.e. more efficient and/or attenuated activity) people who resilient trauma.
