Abstract
Rising
rates
of
suicide
fatality,
attempts,
and
ideations
among
adolescents
aged
10–19
over
the
past
two
decades
represent
a
national
public
health
priority.
Theories
that
seek
to
understand
suicidal
ideation
overwhelmingly
focus
on
transition
from
attempt
sole
cognition:
active
–
serious
consideration
killing
one’s
self,
with
less
attention
non-suicidal
cognitions
emerge
during
adolescence
may
have
implications
for
behavior.
A
large
body
research
exists
characterizes
not
only
as
period
heightened
onset
prevalence
desire
no
longer
be
alive
(i.e.,
passive
ideation),
but
also
about
life
death.

review

Despite
a
steady
decrease
in
suicide
rates
the
United
States,
rate
among
Black
males
has
increased
recent
decades.
Moreover,
is
now
positioned
as
third
leading
cause
of
death
this
population,
signaling
public
health
crisis.
Enhancing
ability
for
future
prevention
scholars
to
fully
characterize
and
intervene
on
risk
factors
an
emerging
equity
priority,
yet
there
little
empirical
evidence
robustly
investigate
alarming
trends

suicide.

present

Abstract
Background
The
coronavirus
disease
2019
(COVID-19)
pandemic
has
negatively
impacted
many
aspects
of
life.
Measures
for
preventing
the
spread
COVID-19
(e.g.,
school
lockdowns,
remote
and
hybrid
classes,
group
outdoor
activity
restrictions,
social
distancing
in
classroom
meal
time)
could
have
led
to
adolescents
experience
anxiety
depressive
symptoms.
Such
mental
health
impacts
increase
risk
suicidal
ideation

population.

Abstract
Objective
This
study

forms
of
suicidality.
