Abstract Background Lipid peroxidation is a characteristic metabolic manifestation of diabetic retinopathy (DR) that causes inflammation, eventually leading to severe retinal vascular abnormalities. Selenium (Se) can directly or indirectly scavenge intracellular free radicals. Due the narrow distinction between Se’s effective and toxic doses, porous Se@SiO2 nanospheres have been developed control release Se. They exert strong antioxidant anti-inflammatory effects. Methods The effect anti-lipid effects Se@SiO 2 on mice were assessed by detecting level Malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4), decreased reduced/oxidized (GSH/GSSG) ratio, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interferon (IFN)-γ, interleukin (IL) -1β retina. Mechanistic assays revealed that TZn@CSe significantly modulated oxidative response signaling pathways, thereby alleviating storms. Bisphenol A (BPA) is widely used to harden plastics and polycarbonates causes serious toxic effects in multiple organs, including the intestines. Selenium, as an essential nutrient element for humans animals, exhibits a predominant effect various physiological processes. Selenium nanoparticles have attracted more attention due their outstanding biological activity biosafety. We prepared chitosan-coated selenium (SeNPs) further compared protective effects, investigated underlying mechanism of SeNPs inorganic (Na2SeO3) on BPA-induced toxicity porcine intestinal epithelial cells (IPEC-J2). The particle size, zeta potential, microstructure were detected by using nano-selenium size meter transmission electron microscope. IPEC-J2 exposed BPA alone or simultaneously Na2SeO3.
