In recent years, mitochondrion (powerhouse of the cells) gained lots interest as one unorthodox targets for futuristic cancer therapy. As a result, novel small molecules were developed to damage and image mitochondria in models. this context, aggregation-induced emission probes (AIEgens) received immense attention due their applications mitochondria-targeted biosensing, imaging, biomedical theranostics. On other hand, phototherapy (photodynamic photothermal) has emerged powerful alternative manage its less invasive nature. However, merging these two areas engineer phototherapeutic diagnosis treatment remained major challenge. mini-review, we will outline development molecule AIEgens imaging agents photosensitizers photodynamic therapy along with dual photodymanic–phototheramal chemo-photodynamic We also highlight current challenges developing photothermal future theranostic cancer.

Since their inception, rhodamine dyes have been extensively applied in biotechnology as fluorescent markers or for the detection of biomolecules owing to good optical physical properties. Accordingly, they emerged a powerful tool visualization living systems. Abstract Bacteria can cause numerous infectious diseases and has been a major threat to human humans. Although antibiotics have partially succeeded in treating bacteria, owing antibiotic abuse, the emergence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) bacteria drastically diminished their potency. Since invention laser, combination light photosensitizers, photodynamic therapy (PDT), become an effective noninvasive treatment along with photothermal (PTT), which heat is generated by nonradiative relaxation. Antimicrobial PDT PTT are emerging as treatments for bacterial infection, particularly against MDR bacteria. This mini review covers recent progresses treatment.
