This study aims to analyze the experiences of creating metaverse classroom on pre-service EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers’ technological acceptance and affordance, well their perception its potential for language learning teaching. To achieve this purpose, utilized an in-depth analysis survey reflection data collected from 30 teachers engaged in creation sharing classroom. The results indicate that design participants’ flexible reconfigurable increased self-efficacy, autonomy, affordance. Sentiment revealed participants had positive experience Keyword network demonstrated environment facilitated contextualized learning. Based findings, suggests some educational policies not only encompass theoretical aspects but also consider pedagogical perspectives.

Chatbot research has received growing attention due to the rapid diversification of chatbot technology, as demonstrated by emergence large language models (LLMs) and their integration with automatic speech recognition. However, among various types, speech-recognition chatbots have limited in relevant reviews, despite increasing potential for learning. To fill this gap, 32 empirical studies on learning were reviewed. The following information was reviewed each study: basic publication information, focus, location use, methodology, group design format, participant intervention duration, target language, device type adopted, role. An upward trend quantity starting 2020 identified, which accelerated exponentially 2022. College students more likely than other groups be involved research, English a second or foreign most common language. Most focused participants' perceptions degree using helped them develop speaking listening proficiency. Methodologically, single-chatbot mixed methods conducted one month laboratory classroom settings. Conventional mobile devices, such smartphones, tablet PCs, smart speakers without screen, frequently adopted types. chatbots' role conversational partner. A detailed discussion these results implications future chatbots, particularly regarding use LLM-powered is provided.

The emergence of the Metaverse, supported by innovative technologies, especially extended reality, has opened up new possibilities for various fields education. Some disciplines like STEM have already derived significant benefits from immersive, interactive, and authentic learning opportunities afforded Metaverse. In contrast, only very few changes been seen in language education, such as pedagogical design, technical support, psychological endorsement To predict future pathways present article aims to shed valuable light on use Metaverse discussing topics, definitions, features, examples, existing models. Based this discussion, a educational framework education is proposed, covering five dimensions—transdisciplinarity, pedagogy, technology, actor, learning. It hoped that will be value different stakeholders provide constructive environments teaching

Abstract Although Global Englishes (GE) research continues to grow in English language teaching (ELT), the role of technology enhancing GE awareness remains underexplored. Addressing this gap, study investigates potential as a lingua franca (ELF) interactions with artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots raising awareness. Using quasi‐experimental design, 97 South Korean pre‐service teachers were divided into control group (CG, n = 32) and two experimental groups (EG1, 31; EG2, 34) for 16‐week teacher‐training courses. The CG received no instruction, while EG1 conducted presentation task EG2 interacted AI 3D metaverse environments. We used mixed‐methods approach pre‐ post‐test surveys interviews. ANCOVA results survey data showed that both tasks had positive effects on all facets (e.g., acceptance one's local English, other Englishes, native‐speakerism, ELF confidence intention, willingness incorporate GELT teaching), chatbot exerting stronger effect intention. For practical implications, findings outlined pedagogical strategies integrating computer‐assisted (CA) learning. Theoretically, we proposed CA‐GELT future era generative technology.
