Abstract Cancer is a grievous disease whose treatment requires more efficient, non-invasive therapy, associated with minimal side effects. Gold nanoparticles possessing greatly impressive optical properties have been forerunner in bioengineered cancer therapy. This theranostic system has gained immense popularity and finds its application the field of molecular detection, biological imaging, cell targeting, etc. The photothermal property nanoparticles, especially gold nanorods, causes absorption light incident by source, transforms it into heat, resulting tumor destruction. review describes different features summarizes advance research done for precisely nanorods combating various cancers including breast, lung, colon, oral, prostate, pancreatic cancer.

Metal nanoparticles (such as gold, silver, iron, copper, etc.) hold tremendous potential and offer enormous opportunities imaging diagnostics due to their broad optical characteristics, ease manufacturing technique, simple surface modification. arginine-glycine-aspartate (RGD) peptide is a three-amino acid sequence that seems have considerably greater ability adhere integrin adhesion molecules exclusively express on tumour cells. RGD peptides act the efficient tailoring ligand with variety benefits including non-toxicity, precision, rapid clearance, etc. This review focuses possibility non-invasive cancer using metal assistance.
